Aims of the Religious Studies Department
Walhampton has a strong Christian tradition that the school upholds. We are also aware that we live in a multi- cultural society, and the teaching within Religious Studies reflects this.
The Religious Studies Department aims to equip pupils with a basic knowledge of religious faiths and a variety of skills that will help them throughout life.
We also aim to promote pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
We endeavor to promote empathy and tolerance for the beliefs of others and through this, we prepare children for the Common Entrance and Scholarship exams that they may take.
The Religious Studies Department aims to ensure learning is enjoyable, engaging and relevant, through a variety of well- planned and captivating lessons.
